Our Team

Gemma Beaumont – Lead Practitioner

I went straight into childcare when I left school at 16. I went to Aberdeen college for a year to complete my level 2 childcare and then worked in a private nursery in Aberdeen for three years, gaining my experience and completing my level 3 childcare and education award. After four years in childcare I decided it was time to try something different and worked at Aberdeen airport for 12 years. My jobs at the airport included, check-in, aircraft dispatcher and cabin crew. When my little girl was born and watching her grow and learn I realised I missed working with kids. I have worked at playgroup since January 2016 and loved every moment. I completed my level 4 childcare and education award in 2020 promoting to Lead Practitioner. I love working with children as every day is different and no matter what activity you plan to do, you can’t always guarantee it will go to plan as the children will have their own ideas on what they would like to do/learn. I love seeing the children grow in confidence and see their personality change throughout their time at playgroup. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my daughter and husband travelling. I also enjoy walking, cycling and I have just started running.

Kimberlee Taylor – Practitioner

I have worked in childcare since 2006 and am a qualified practitioner having completed my level 3 qualification in CCLD. I have worked with a range of different ages from birth to 12 years old. During this time I have had a wee family of my own, a son and daughter who keep me busy. The joy of working with children for me is watching them as they grow and learn, especially when they are using schematic play, I feel it let’s them show their individuality.

Yvonne Hendron – Practitioner

After completing a degree in Geography, I spent four years working in conservation and environmental education in the Scottish Highlands. I started my education career as an English teacher in Japan, where I lived for a year. Upon returning to Scotland, I completed a diploma in primary teaching then spent 6 years teaching in Aberdeen City, where I taught from nursery to Primary 7. I took part in a voluntary placement in Rwanda with Global Learning Partnerships where I developed a passion for Global Citizenship. I will enjoy bringing my personal experiences into playgroup to enthuse children about wildlife, the environment and the wider world. Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, running and spending time with my little girl.
